I usually love anything Welch's makes, but this wasn't close to what I remember them tasting like. I received a sample in the mail today, and thought to myself "Oh good, I can have a snack later on." That snack turned into trash. I opened the package and took one of them out, then popped it into my mouth. Do you want to know why I threw it into the trash can?
- The taste was almost like chewing on rubber. It may be fat free (for those watching their waist lines), but there was nothing to help take the place of the removed fat.
- I could barely chew it. I don't know how long it took to get to my place, or if it's the normalcy, but I chewed it 10 times, and gave up. I ended up just swallowing it.
- It wasn't as juicy as I would have hoped. I was hoping that instead of tasting like rubber, it could have had some juiciness in it. It didn't at all. It was dry and unappetizing.
Now, if you're on a fat-free diet, or want something with no fat for your kids, this would be great. However, for those people who want a good tasting snack during the day and do want the taste, then you might want to check out their non fat-free snack products: http://www.welchs.com/1185#productList
Will I buy Welch's ever again? Yes. Just because there's one bad product for me doesn't mean i'll give up. Will I tell people about the fat-free fruit snacks? Maybe. If the people I tell would like it, I would suggest it.
Sorry Welch's, this snack-eater doesn't like the fat-free fruit snacks- but she enjoys the other products!
